The pandemic has hit many households hard. Renters, most especially, are looking for more ways to save money and cope with financial distress. Here are some practical ways renters can save money, especially on insurance payments, loans, subscriptions, and daily expenses.
Save Money On Insurance Payments
Look for discounts on renters insurance offered by insurance companies. Some installed features on your apartment can help you earn discounts like fire-suppression sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, security cameras, etc. There are discounts applicable for specific customers like military families, clients age 50 and over, and special needs customers.
Save Money By Making Practical Spending Decisions
Review your spending habits. You might be spending money on things that you don’t need or paying for stuff that you don’t know you have!
Check your bank account or credit card account and look for any automated payments. Cancel anything that you don't need; you'll be surprised about how much money you can save from money that's regularly taken out of your account.
Any memberships and donations should also be reviewed. If you don't use your gym membership or your country club membership, then you might as well cancel these. If you can't afford to donate to charity, then do so when you're more financially able.
Save Money On Home Maintenance & Repairs
Regular quality maintenance can save you a lot of money in the long run. Review professional home repair services and settle for quality work. You may also save money by doing simple home maintenance work by yourself. You can wash, vacuum, and detail your car instead of paying for expensive car detailing services.
Save Money On Credit Card Usage
Go for credit cards that reward you every time you shop. Settle for credit cards with lower interest rates, lower ATM fees, and cards with no hidden bank charges. And to avoid unwanted credit, use only one card.
Renters can also save money by shopping for a better insurance policy, something that will fit their specific needs and budget. Take time to review your renter's insurance or talk to an agent right away.
