A fun road trip or vacation often gets ruined by a sudden flat tire. What if you might not find any road assistance nearby? You might have to swap it out yourself. Fortunately, we have the perfect list for you. Check out these quick tips in changing a tire. Get the Lugs Loose
You can begin by choking a wheel at the opposite side of the car that you will need to jack up. It could either be a rock or a wood on the side if you don’t normally carry a wheel chock with you as you drive. It will ensure your car is not rolling anywhere once you raise it up to the air.
Jack It Up Find the spot weld or jack point under your vehicle by the wheel you will remove. Remember to position the jack that its handle points out, then crack it up in a clockwise direction with the provided jack handle tools. Once you see the light between the tire and the ground, you’ll know it has enough height in between to take the wheel off. Remove the Tire Now, spin the loosened lug nuts entirely and place them in a safe place. Ideally, you can easily remove the tire from your car, or it may fall right off. However, a few kicks to the sidewall from an angle to the right can set it free at times when it’s being stubborn. Take the wheel behind your car or to your trunk to keep it out of the way. Grab the Spare Grab your spare tire from wherever it might be. For most SUVs or cars, you’ll find it under the loading floor. Trucks often keep them suspended beneath the bed, but you’ll most likely have to screw off a center nut holding it in place. It’s easy to change a flat tire.
